Lygos is the ancient name - from 13 hundred BC - of Istanbul, our home town. It means “light, enlightenment, brilliance”. Roman emperor Constantin changed it to Constantinople when he made it the Capital of the Eastern Roman Empire and after Ottomans took over, it eventually became Istanbul.
